Digital Holiday Photo Cards on Cardstock - "Stationery" Photo Cards
All the rage today in custom printed stationery is the
digital photo card.
But what do you need to know about these products and what separates the good
from the bad?
First, not all digital photo cards are equal! Look for quality printing, real
card stock and accurate sizing. Quality printing means that the design is
printed on a genuine digital press not a cheaper color laser, preferably a
machine that can hit true Pantone color. Digital photo printers or color lasers
will produce a glossy and cheap looking product.
All of our holiday digital photo cards are printed on 80 - 100 lb card stock!
The photo card needs to be printed on card stock that is at least 80lb or
greater. Uncoated card stock is the best because it looks like "real" stationery
not a glossy photo card from the local drug store. Glossy colors and glossy
paper can be purchased at nearly any retail outlet but high quality
stationery-quality photo cards can only be purchased through seasoned designers
& printers of stationery.
Third, the photo card should be cut to the precise size; where the image, text
and photo is accurately printed on the card. A dead give away for a cheap photo
card is when the border on one side is significantly thicker or thinner the
other side or where the image is not printed squarely on the card.
Fourth, be sure you provide high quality digital
photos...not traditional photos scanned to create digital photos but real
digital photos taken with a good digital camera. 300 dpi or greater jpegs or
tiffs are a best! Good photos make good photo cards!!
Noteworthy has re-introduced a new line of digital photo cards for 2007. Noteworthy's designs are printed using a high quality digital press, on 100 lb
uncoated card stock and cut to the perfect size. These designs illustrate what
happens when a high quality, experienced design and printing firm applies the
latest technology to the contemporary social paper design.
